Wales May 2007
(Revisited I)
In May 2007 we went for another week to Powys,
staying at Gliffaes again.
The picture above shows Gliffaes from opposite the valley of the river Usk
Here seem from the meadow below.
The river Usk.
Also this part of it belongs to the grounds of Gliffaes.
A day later, after some heavy rainfall, there was a lot more water in the river
and those stones were not visible any more.
The meadow just beyond the Gliffaes estate.
This shot was taken to try out, whether the camera worked.
It worked.
My favourite picture of this lot -
taken from the country lane above Gliffaes.
There a so many stunning views. It is hard to make a choice.
A neolithic grave.
The same.
An eyecatching solitaire.
Some more scenery.
Are we being watched?
Those very efficient woolly lawnmowers on four legs
are keeping the grass in perfect trim.
We were just in time ...
... for the bluebell season.
Pentwyn Reservoir near Pen y Fan.
View onto Graig Fan Du, one of the highest of the Breacon Beacons.
This mountain looks as if it has been painted
in camouflage green shades.
Young solders train here, running up and down the slopes
armed and with 40 pound rucksacks.
The stream that kept us company on a very pretty moorland walk.
The very softest in the moss department.
A water reservoir near Tallibont-on-Usk.
The same plus azaleas.
This was it for now,
but
in October we are going for another trip to Wales
so
watch this space!
