Warming up

To get going, we drove to the Tourist Information Center near Brecon in the Brecon Beacons. The people at the Center were very switched on and Peter provided himself with brochures and maps. 

An easy walk starts right at the Center and that was the first one we tried.

The weather was lovely and we were told, that it was impossible to get lost on this walk.

True. Wide paths are shorn through the fern (bracken),

all leading up one hill.

But what beautiful views, wherever one looks! 

The brown stuff is withered bracken. It gets used in stables as bedding.
